- 1 pound, ground Beef
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup, diced onion
- 1/2 cup, diced green pepper
Sauce
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
How To5 Steps
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350F. Lightly grease 9x13 baking dish.
Step 2
Mix ketchup, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon sugar, in small dish and set aside.
Step 3
In large bowl add ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, a tablespoon of sauce, remaining garlic powder, salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, onion, and green pepper(optional). Mix well using your hands. Meat should pull away from the bowl, if not slowly add flour, mixing well, until mixture sticks together.
Step 4
Place meatloaf into baking dish, patting into dish, allowing room on sides for grease. Bake for 40 minutes.
Step 5
In last 15 minutes of baking time, spoon sauce on top of loaf and spread covering all sides. Finish baking until meat is done. Allow to sit for 5 minutes before serving.
Chef's Notes
The onion and green pepper can be omitted if desired. I have also been known to add bacon.
