Ingredients
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup, packed brown sugar
- 1 cup, room temp butter
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 2 egg
- 3 cups flour
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup, chopped walnuts

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine sugars; add in butter and cream together with the sugar, using an electric mixer.
Step 3
Add vanilla and eggs; mix together.
Step 4
In a separate bowl sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt, slowly add to the butter mixture ½ cup at a time. Mix well; the dough will be stiff.
Step 5
Add the chocolate chips and nuts (if using), with a wooden spoon.
Step 6
Line the cookie sheets with baking parchment or wax paper.
Step 7
Drop dough with a small ice cream scoop, or two small spoons, onto the sheets.
Step 8
Bake 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees F.
Step 9
Allow to cool completely on parchment paper, or wire racks. Store in cool dry place.
