Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 cup, grated cheddar cheese

Step 1
Melt butter in small sauce pan. Remove from heat, and stir in flour, salt, and pepper.
Step 2
Gradually add milk, stirring in a little at a time, making sure mixture is smooth. Once all milk has been added, cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and smooth.
Step 3
Cook an additional 5 minutes, before adding cheese. Stir cheese in, until smooth and creamy. Serve hot over your favorite vegetable.
Chef's Notes
I like to add a little extra cheese. Can use any type of cheese you wish, sharp cheddar is the best as far as flavor goes.
