Crispy, sweet candies ideal for holiday gift tins, topped with chocolate and pecans.

1 cup sugar
1 cup butter
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup pecans, finely chopped
Heat sugar, butter, and water to boiling, stirring constantly. Cook to 300°F on candy thermometer (~13 minutes).
Pour onto ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle chocolate chips, wait 1 minute, then spread. Top with pecans.
Cool for about 1 hour until firm. Break into pieces.
