Snickerdoodles are a favorite in our family around the Christmas holidays. You can enjoy them any time of the year. They are rolled cookies that have been coated in cinnamon and sugar.

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup granulated sugar (coating)
2 teaspoons cinnamon (coating)
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Beat sugar, butter, and eggs together in a large bowl; stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls; coat with cinnamon-sugar mixture; place 2 inches apart on baking tray.
Bake 8-10 minutes; cool on wire rack.
