Soaking your pork chops in a salt brine allows the flavor to really come through, while making your pork more tender and juicy.

3 cups water
2 tablespoons salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon dark rum
1 bay leaf
Bring 1 cup water to a boil.
Combine salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and bay leaf in a medium bowl; pour in boiling water and dissolve.
Add Worcestershire sauce, rum, and remaining cold water; mix thoroughly.
Place pork chops in shallow dish, cover with brine, wrap, and refrigerate 4 hours (up to 24 hours maximum).
Rinse pork chops under cold water before cooking.
Prepare and cook using your preferred method.
