3/4 cup flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup cornmeal
1 egg
1 cup milk
1/4 cup melted shortening
Preheat oven to 425°F.
Mix flour, cornmeal, salt, baking powder, and sugar in medium bowl; set aside.
Beat egg in small bowl, add milk and melted shortening, pour into flour mixture, mix quickly.
Pour into greased baking dish; bake 25 minutes until golden brown; serve warm.
