Deep fried hot dogs coated in a thick layer of cornbread, served on a stick.

Ingredients

1 cup cornmeal

1 cup flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 egg

1 cup milk

2 packs hot dogs

as needed wooden skewers

Preheat deep fryer to 350°F. Drain hot dogs and allow to dry.

Mix cornmeal, flour, salt, pepper, sugar, baking powder, egg, and milk in large bowl.

Cut hot dogs in half and insert skewers halfway through each piece.

Coat hot dog with cornmeal mixture and tap to remove excess.

Submerge corn dog in hot oil until golden brown, approximately 4-6 minutes.

Drain on paper towels before serving.
