A fall favorite combining crisp apples with sweet pears, topped with a crumbly streusel topping.

1 cup flour (crust)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon softened butter (crust)
2 tablespoons cold water
4 apples
4 pears
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup flour (filling)
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup flour (topping)
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup softened butter (topping)
Mix flour, salt, and butter until crumbly. Add cold water gradually until pastry forms.
Roll pastry on floured surface, fit into 9-inch pan, trim and fold edges.
Combine flour, brown sugar, and butter for crumb topping; set aside.
Peel and slice apples and pears. Mix with sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Spoon filling into pie shell. Spread crumb topping over filling.
Bake at 425°F for 50 minutes, covering edges with foil. Remove foil last 10-15 minutes.
