Soaking your pork chops in a salt brine allows the flavor to really come through, while making your pork more tender and juicy.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dark rum
  • 1 bay leaf

How To6 Steps

Step 1

Bring 1 cup of water to a boil.

Step 2

In medium bowl add, salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and bay leaf. Pour in boiling water, and allow salt to dissolve. 

Step 3

Add Worcestershire sauce, rum, and remaining COLD water. Mix well. 

Step 4

In a shallow dish place pork chops, pour brine covering them. Cover with film wrap and place in the refrigerator, for 4 hours, can store for up to 24 hours.  

Step 5

When ready to cook, gently rinse pork chops under cold water. 

Step 6

Prepare and cook according to your favorite recipe.
